People
who criticise others usually do so because they don't like themselves and
believe that by tearing others down they are building themselves up.
They sadly
soon learn it doesn't work.
When we throw dirt at others, we dig a deeper hole
for ourselves.
Often
the traits or behaviours we are critical of in other people are the very things
we need to correct in ourselves. If you find that you don't like someone,
rather than attacking or criticising them, take time for self-examination. Ask
yourself, "Am I projecting on to them behaviors I possess and don't
like?"
Transform
the need to criticise into an opportunity for personal change and growth.
People who constantly criticise and speak negatively of you are people you do
not need in your life.
People
who feel good about themselves want to make others feel good and don't need to
knock the joy out of someone. Keep away from people who try to belittle your
ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that
you, too, can become great!
